I recently bought this Real Techniques brush set by Samantha Chapman, one of the Pixiwoo sisters on youtube. I love how they do makeup and my friend has been raving about how she loves the Real Technique brushes feels so I went ahead and ordered this set (Seeing my favorite makeup guru Farah use this in most of her tutorials helped me with the final decision).
"Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition"
I like the idea of using this as a lip brush, but I rarely wear concealer so I think I would use it for detailed eye work instead.
Pointed Foundation Brush
"Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage"
I plan on using this just like my favorite makeup guru Farah (dhukai.com) uses it - applying liquid highlighter. I feel like this is rather small to apply foundation.
"Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation"
I've tried this once with my powder foundation (Mac studio fix powder), and once with my sheer liquid foundation (Josie Maran Matchmaker serum) and I already love this brush.
"Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish."
For this brush, I believe I saw one of the Chapman sisters use it as a cream blush brush and I'm curious to find out how it works when using it with cream blush. I will let you guys know how it goes.
Overall, my initial reaction to these brushes are just okay, and for $17.99 I think this is good deal. The buffing brush and the contour brush are very soft and I do like how they feel. Maybe I'll fall more in love with these after I put them to use
