Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Cosmetics came out with a new mascara, Roller Lash, that is designed to grab and lift lashes for a full, curling, and lengthening effect.

The packaging is supposed to be designed after the old school hair rollers (I'm glad I don't use them anymore and have embraced styling my natural hair without heat).   I think that's a pretty cute idea since they advise you to roll the mascara on so it can hook and coat your lashes.  Since my lashes are curly, I usually coat my lashes from above first to try and straighten them out and when I do that with this mascara, I do feel them grabbing onto my lashes.

Now when it comes to performance I am not concerned with the curling effect since my lashes are so curly and short that it is annoying so I look more for length and volume.  This mascara doesn't give me as much volume as some of the other mascaras that I have but I still like the end result when I use this.  I will say that it gives me a decent length and does a great job separating my unruly lashes.

The mascara doesn't smudge throughout the day (maybe I just got lucky so far because it is winter time here in New York) and  I love that I don't have to scrub my eyes just to remove the mascara. This is the easiest mascara to remove from everything that I have tried so far and that is saying a lot.

Benefit suggests to layer their best-selling They're Real mascara on top of the Roller Lash mascara for a more dramatic feel, but I feel like it just darkens my lashes a bit more and it's nothing to go crazy about.

  1. Very nice. All I ever use is Clinique, glad to know something else out there may work. Only thing is I don't like the idea of having to buy two mascaras from Benefit in order to see a desired result :/
